Did you know that one billion people will go to their graves without ever having had access to healthcare workers, medication, clean water, or affordable health facilities?
Believing that everyone has the right to health care, Promerica Health has joined Health eVillages as a sponsor and contributor. Promerica Health president and CEO Steve Woods will also serve on the Health eVillages Board of Directors. Founded in 2011, Health eVillages aims to advance health care access and improve the quality of care by providing state-of-the-art mobile health technology including medical reference and clinical decision support tools, as well as other community-focused resources, to medical and public health professionals serving the most vulnerable populations around the world.
Initially, Health eVillages launched pilots in Kenya, Uganda, and Haiti. The impact was immediately realized as reports from doctors and nurses showed they were using the technology and medical apps to make informed, life-saving decisions. Health eVillages has since expanded to eleven countries and deployed over a thousand content-enabled mobile devices worldwide.
“We are excited to lend our support to Health eVillages and to help extend the reach of their mission,” said Woods. “At Promerica Health, we have focused on the delivery of transformative health experiences for nearly two decades, and we know the vital role that technology and mobility play in bringing health care to underserved audiences. I look forward to working with Founder and Chairman Donato Tramuto, my fellow board members and the talented Health eVillages team on this important work.”
